Applied Behaviour Analysis- ABA Therapy
Differently-abled children require various behavioural and educational interventions to interact, learn, and perform at age-appropriate levels. ABA, or Applied Behaviour Analysis, is one of those scientifically proven treatments that can help modify behaviour through reinforcement strategies.
‘behaviour’ refers to the actions and skills that one can perform, and ‘behaviour analysis’ refers to understanding behaviour and how the surroundings affect it. It includes physical or social influences that can change or are changed by one’s behaviour.
Principles of ABA Therapy
When a child develops a particular type of behaviour, it is the consequence or reaction from several recurring incidents that the child faces daily. These are the antecedents. Speech Therapy For Special Needs Children
Speech therapy is for children who have difficulty speaking, communicating, or swallowing. It teaches how to use voice properly and make the appropriate sounds with engaging muscles. It also aids in language comprehension and expressing oneself, both verbal and non-verbal.

Special Education For Special Needs Children

Physiotherapy

Patterning focuses on those suppressed areas that may involve intellectual disabilities and cognitive disorders.

Down Syndrome
Down syndrome is a life-long condition causing physical defects, intellectual impairment, developmental delays and behavioural problems due to a genetic anomaly called trisomy. We usually have 23 pairs of chromosomes, i.e. 46 chromosomes. Each carries specific information about our traits and characteristics. Down syndrome comprises an extra copy of the 21 chromosomes. So, the total number of chromosomes becomes 47. This extra chromosome contributes to the defects. The syndrome affects vary from mild to severe.
